ABOUT BRAG

BRAG logo 100

Braidwood Regional Arts Group Inc. (BRAG), an incorporated not-for-profit organisation, continues the tradition set by the Braidwood Group of the 1970s which brought together artists from a wide range of mediums such as poet Judith Wright and painter Tom Thompson; weaver Solvig Baas Becking, potter Richard Murray and silversmith Christoph Altenburg, who later became three foundation members, making Braidwood a center for creative and cultural excellence.

BRAG looks after the interests of artists and craftpersons living in Braidwood and its Regions - visual, craft, performing and literary.

About the Braidwood Community Arts Centre

The Braidwood Community Arts Centre is the result of BRAG's major collaborative project which was achieved through an Appeal launched by the then Mayor of Palerang Council and by Federal Government funding support through a Grant in 2012.

Local tradespeople gave their time along with BRAG members to repair and restore the building and a grant from the Braidwood Community Bank (Bendigo) enabled the outside to be re-painted.

The Arts Centre was Officially Opened by local MP in June 2012

The Braidwood Community Arts Centre now provides the venue for most BRAG events, projects, workshops and concerts. It has meeting, workshop and exhibition spaces, and spaces suitable for major or regular local events.
